Kathrine Myhre established the cluster Oslo Medtech in 2009 and has since the start been the CEO of the organization. Oslo Medtech is today a mature cluster organization with 180 members including Medtech, eHealth and Digital health companies, R&D-institutions, hospitals and local health authorities, international companies and investors. Oslo Medtech where granted status as a Norwegian Centre of Expertise (NCE) of the Norwegian cluster program in June 2015.
After finishing her Master degree in Political Science from the University of Reading, UK in 2001, Kathrine Myhre worked with innovation strategies and business creation based on novel research from the University of Oslo (UiO) until 2008 – from 2004 until 2008 as the Director of Innovation at Birkeland Innovation (now Inven2), the technology transfer office at University of Oslo.
From 2008 she held the position as Director of Innovation at the company IT Fornebu. It was from this position the concept of Oslo Medtech was formed and launched in 2009. From September 2012 Oslo Medtech has been organized as
a separate entity, focusing on creating businesses fulfilling unmet medical needs, stimulating the development of a competitive Norwegian Medtech and eHealth industry.
Kathrine Myhre has over the years built organizations, and a broad network, both nationally and internationally. She has initiated and led numerous strategic and innovative processes and projects, within a broad spectrum: conduction of creative processes, market analysis, business creation, handling of IPR, marketing and sales and facilitating financing of key projects and businesses. Her master degree from University of Reading, UK is based on a Bachelor in Political Science from University of Oslo.
