Tove Sørensen

Tove Sørensen is head of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Telemedicine and e-health (2002-). Sørensen is the project manager for ‘Digital Patients’ Services in Northern Norway’ owned by the Northern Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse Nord RHF). She has been the project manager for several projects national and international, e.g. the ‘WHO/European survey on eHealth consumer trends’ (eHealth Trends), co-funded by the European Commission, DG Sanco. Other research areas include telestroke, ICT for HIV/AIDS management, implementation and research methodologies in telemedicine and e-health.

Sørensen graduated from the University of Tromsø, Norway in 1996 with a multidisciplinary 6-year degree in Social Sciences with Computer Science as her second subject. She holds a teacher’s diploma and has been organizing international telemedicine seminars and workshops, nationally and internationally, in addition to give guest lectures, and coach students. She has been working in several countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.
